We can create openness about the impact of grief by sharing our stories.
Our experiences of grief are as complicated and varied as we are and as unique as the people we’ve loved. Yet, discovering and sharing the similarities and differences in our experiences can be validating and help us feel a little less alone. We can embolden one another to bring as much of ourselves into the open as we care to and in doing so, we normalize what feels profoundly abnormal and together we create a little more space where others can be themselves too.
Eventually everyone will need a good place to grieve.
